HPCrazy Guitar Academy - Private online guitar lessons

Private online guitar lessons with HPCrazy

Video Download

You can have private online - guitarlessons which really refer to your request and your playing skills. The difference to the other general online-lessons is, that I work for 45 min on your personal lesson. I record a 20 - 30 min video special for you and your request and write some tabs or chordcharts or whatever is necessary for your lesson. A lesson also includes a review of your recording you have sent to me per email before each new lesson. This is very important, because I design each following lesson to your progress in combination with your requested topics. Having privat lessons with me means that we really work on your personal guitarplaying and that I give you tips how you can work on your own playing style. Acctually quite similar to normal private lessons.

Skype Guitar Lessons

guitarlessons with skype or zoomSince 2020, professional guitar lessons are now also possible via videocall on Skype or Zoom. My equipment allows a professional video and sound transmission, so there is no difference to the quality of the video's for download. Here the lessons are almost the same as in the normal face-to-face lessons - except that we can't play together because the video transmission has a very small delay, which makes precise playing together impossible. But otherwise the lessons are exactly the same as presence lessons. Backing tracks and tabs will be sent to you via Skype / Zoom chat so that we can practice together in live conversation and I can correct your mistakes right away and give you valuable tips for your guitar playing in real time. I can also show you in real time the examples we are working on. Thanks to the professional video technology in my studio, it is also possible for me to zoom in very close to the fretboard, so that you can see and hear everything exactly. With both Skype and Zoom you can also record the lesson on your computer.

Certified guitar teacher & guitarist

Gitarren Diplom

I have studied music or guitar and a university degree SMPV as a musician and music teacher. This is comparable to a Master Degree in today's educational system. I have been a professional pianist since the age of 20 and started playing the guitar at 20. In my music studies and until I was 30 years old I practiced guitar between 10-16 hours a day, so I know all aspects of the guitarist's career and because I started playing guitar so late, I know all the problems that arise at every level of playing, which is a great advantage for the students, because I can remember the problems encountered in the learning process and know different ways to solve them.

I have experience from teaching private students live and online in a private setting and at Swiss Music University and being a featured member of the Swiss pedagogic association SMPV. I have done many workshops for fans, in University and as a guest professor on several occasions in professional music schools in Europe.

I have been working full-time in the online education sector as a guitarist, guitar teacher and one of the pioneers in online guitar teaching since 2000. In the beginning we were just a handful of people who developed this form of guitar teaching, which is standard today. So I have a wealth of experience in what works and what doesn't in the field of online guitar lessons. In my most popular years as an online guitar instructor at Guitartricks.com I have taught up to 80000 students.

How do private video download guitar lessons work ?

I charge 80 CHF for one private online lesson. For your money you buy 45 minutes of my time. Normally this is the time needed to listen to listen to your recording, deciding how to proceed, to record your video and do all technical work that you can download it. But if you have other requests this is also ok. Taking lessons on a regualar basis I monitor your progress and work together with you on your defined goal. All is written down in your journal which can be found in your personal acoout at the URL www.hpcrazy.com/YOUR_NAME.

One lesson contains

  1. 1 video around 17 - 24 minutes recorded specialy for your playing skills
  2. Review of your mp3 or video feedback ( 1-3 minutes )
  3. Tabs ( if nessessary )
  4. Jamtrack ( if nessessary )
  5. Theory ( if nessessary )
  6. Chordchart ( if nessessary )
  7. Skales ( if nessessary )
  8. unlimited Email Support

    Classification

To start with the private online lessons, you must first make a classification of your playing level. This can be done either through a personal trial lesson at Studio Egg in Switzerland or by phone in combination with filling out the registration form. After filling it out you have to send me 2-3 videos of your current level in the desired area. Theoretically, only audio recordings are possible, but videos will give you a more detailed insight into your current level. Based on your registration and your recordings I will create a journal, which you can also view in your personal account. The journal gives you control over your existing balance of paid lessons, your profile, your progress and generally an overview of your private online guitar lessons. After 10 lessons the journal will be deleted and renewed. So you have to make sure that you print your journal whenever you want to archive it.

    Procedure

To start you must transfer at least 80 CHF to my account. This is the price per lesson. You can check your balance in your journal under " Credit balance ". You can transfer an amount of your choice by bank or PayPal. The minimum is one lesson - the maximum is 10. The lesson can start as soon as your transfer is confirmed to me. If you choose bank transfer the easiest way is to send me a screenshot of the transfer receipt, because the confirmation of payment can take a few days. Your lessons takes place weekly or every 2 weeks on a fixed date. On this date I will put your new lesson online. If for technical reasons the upload of your lesson is only possible at a later date, you will be informed by me. You can choose the topic of each lesson yourself or let me decide what serves your current playing level best. The basis for the design of the lessons is the journal which you can find on your download page. The data of the current lesson will only remain on the net until the next lesson date. After that they are irrevocably lost. If you missed the download of the lesson and did not inform me, I am still entitled to charge the lesson.

    Video Download

The videos are in HD format 1080p and the file size is about 800 - 1500 MB.
Therefore it is recommended to download the file to the hard disc first.

PC : Right click with the mouse - " save target "
    Mac : ctrl click - " save target "
Tablet : The file is automatically saved in " Downloads "

    Control Video's

The recordings (video or audio) of you are very important to really adjust the lessons to your level and to evaluate your progress. Send me an MP3 or a video of you and your playing before your lesson. Please do not make the recording longer than 3 minutes. You can also send me the files via dropbox, wet transfer, email or whatsapp. The recordings must be sent at the latest by 10AM the morning before your next lesson. You can also just send me written feedback on how you did in the last lesson and also include your wishes.

    Experience

Since 2003 I have been looking after private online students and can therefore draw on the following experience and feedback. All online students welcomed the fact that the videos could be watched again and again. There were even some students who preferred the online lessons, although the Studio Egg would have been accessible without problems. On the learning success of online students :

No matter what level the students had or have, it makes no difference to the progress which can be achieve in usual guitar lessons. Progress in online lessons also depends on personal commitment and the personal practice plan. There are no disadvantages in learning success, which could arise from the indirect form of communication. A direct communication or through Skype has not been established.

    Teaching Concept

First things first - The student is always the focus of the lesson. What are the personal goals, wishes, talents and requirements? The teaching offer and system is very diverse and is individually adapted. The student determines the goals and the time frame, which can be invested regularly for the guitar. On the basis of this information we work out a concept together, which integrates the goals on the guitar and everyday life with all professional and family obligations. Consistency and continued enjoyment of the instrument are the key to lasting success. The student can choose between a weekly or a 2 week lesson rhythm. This is determined according to the objectives and the time frame the student has available. A constant flow of new information or learning content is important for optimal learning success, even if it is often not possible to master it completely until the next lesson. This is calculated because our human system needs a longer time to process learning content completely. As an example, technical aspects of guitar playing in particular require a longer time to be formed, depending on the intensity of the practice. It is only possible to speed up the learning process to a certain point if one can optimize the practice behavior and establish a long-term regularity in practicing. Basically, the better and faster a student can process learning contents, the more he/she will be supported with new learning contents. The teaching concept is designed to optimise this learning process and to ensure that the joy of playing and music can remain constant in the long term. This is the key to lasting success for every playing level and every time management in everyday life.

The ultimate goal in teaching is the emotional connection to the instrument. This is the key to music and to an own and creative guitar playing for every level (beginner - professional student). The core of this approach is that the desire to be able to play the guitar is based on the fact that everyone wants to make music, i.e. wants to express themselves emotionally on the guitar. Each person lives and experiences emotions individually. The forms of expression are as different as people can be. There are students who enjoy free improvisation, others love to interpret a given piece of music precisely and there are many intermediate forms of these two main forms of musical expression. Through my experience as a guitar teacher and guitar lecturer, but also through my additional training in the psychological field, I have the experience to promote the personal emotional expression on the instrument by talking together in class with specific individual exercises on the guitar. The main focus of the exercises is how personal emotions, images or impressions can be realized on the guitar. From beginners to professionals, this is the key to enjoying music and the guitar and is the last step on the road to long-term success.

    Music for any level

Every guitar student wants to be able to play his / her personal favorite songs as soon as possible. That is no problem. In class the students wish to have their own piece they want to play and we listen to it on YouTube or Spotify and while listening I create a version which is adapted to the current playing level of the student. In private online lessons I need approx. 10 - 15 minutes to work out a version which works for the playing level of each student. That might lead to a shorter video - but in such case a longer video is not nessessary. It is also no problem to learn a desired piece in the original but depending on the difficulty and complexity this might take more then one lesson since I first need to listen how it is played and work out something which I can show to the student.

    Psychological Improvisation Concept

The improvisation in the genres Blues, Jazz, Rock and many others is the goal of many guitarists / inside. Questions about personal expression, techniques how to achieve this are treated by the psychological improvisation concert developed by me. The basis of the psychological improvisation concept comes from music therapy. With which emotionality do I play a single note or a sequence of notes on the guitar ? Is the emotion joy, anger, sadness, relaxation, falling in love or whatever emotion. The transfer of emotions, pictures, colours, impressions into a flow of playing in improvisation make a significant difference to how the improvisation sounds at the end and whether you yourself get into the flow of playing and thereby play more creatively. Visualization exercises in connection with improvisation make the essential difference and from experience it is often the case that blockages in improvisation are solved in exactly the same way and improvisations then flow and sound great musically. This concept works for every level of play and is the central point in my improvisation concept. Of course the purely technical aspects such as scales, licks, melodies, rhythm and harmony are also learned and integrated. This is the essential difference to music therapy. I talk a bit more in detail about my psychological guitar improvisation concept which is the central method of the HPCrazy Guitar Academy.

    Name Feedback
David Eliott My name is David, and I live in Southern California. I'm an old guy who played Rythmn guitar in my early years. After that I got into Classical guitar with Nylon strings. I always loved the Spanish-Flamenco style of music but always hated growing my fingernails to play.

About February 2017, I decided to abandon finger style playing and learn to play my nylon string guitar with a pick. After some difficulty adapting I went to U-Tube to see if I could find a decent picking video. To my surprise, not only did I find a video, I also found an instructor who could teach me how to pick and also how to play my favorite style of music, the Pop Spanish-Flamenco style I've wanted to learn for years. His name is Hanspeter or HP as he calls himself.

He knows all styles of music so if you want to learn, I give him 5 Stars! You send him a practice video and sign up on his website, then make a lesson payment over PayPal and you get your first custom made video lessons made especially for you! I've had a few guitar teachers in my life but HP is the coolest and best I have ever had! One more thing, I consider myself an intermediate beginner, even after years of playing. HP will make your video for whatever level you are at, and help you progress from there!
Volker Seibert Also ich hatte inzwischen meine 3.
